Janani Balasubramanian is an artist who plays in immersive media, conceptual art, and literary work. Working in close collaboration with scientists, they create artworks that invite closer connection with more-than-human worlds and nurture social imagination for care, complexity, and play. Their work has been supported by the Lenore Tawney Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, Sundance Institute, Pew Center for Arts and Heritage, and many others. In 2023-2024 they will be the Denning Visiting Artist at Stanford University.
